SALARY:
Salaries are among the highest in the nation.

OVERTIME COMPENSATION:
Overtime is paid at the rate of time and one-half.

SHOOTING PROFICIENCY PAY:
Bonus pay is paid for one year from time of qualification.

BI-LINGUAL PAY:
Bonus pay may be paid if you can speak, read, and write a foreign language.

MILITARY LEAVE:
If you are in the Military Reserves you are granted up to 30 days with pay each fiscal year, provided you have one year of County and/or military service immediately preceding the leave.

SICK LEAVE:
Twelve (12) sick days a year at full pay.

HOSPITALIZATION:
You will be able to select the appropriate health plan for you and your family from several medical and dental insurance plans.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE:
You may be granted up to five days off with pay if a member of your immediate family is critically ill or suffers death.

HOLIDAYS:
You will receive approximately ten paid holidays per year.

VACATION:
You will receive ten days vacation after one year, fifteen days after five years, and twenty days after fourteen years.

EDUCATION INCENTIVES:
All permanent employees are eligible to pursue a college education at discounted prices through LASD University and receive tuition/enrollment reimbursements of $500.00 per class each year when attending classes at an accredited college or university.

OTHER BENEFITS:
Includes deferred compensation and retirement plans.
