THOMAS G. MARTIN PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN
Thomas G. Martin, a 28-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee Baca, and has assumed command of the Malibu/Lost Hills Station.
Captain Martin joined the Sheriff’s Department in 1975, and eventually held several ranking positions at the Inmate Reception Center, Lennox and Malibu Stations, Special Enforcement Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Internal Affairs Bureau, Homicide Bureau and Field Operations Support Services.
Captain Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development from the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and an Associates Degree in general education at Los Angeles Valley College.
In his spare time, Captain Martin enjoys fishing, hiking, mountain biking and golf. He and his wife Julie are the proud parents of two children; Stephen, 23, a University of California in San Diego graduate, and Kristen, 20, a student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
