BUSINESS ORGANIZATION COMES OUT IN FORCE;
DONATIONS FOR DISASTER RELIEF FOR WILDFIRE VICTIMS

During the past two weeks, horrific wildfires throughout Southern California have resulted in the most explosive disaster in our State’s history. More than 12,000 evacuated residents remain inside American Red Cross Shelters; thousands more are unable to return to their homes. As firefighters continue to grapple with the unrelenting blazes that have claimed 22 lives and scorched 747,000 acres, the needs of victims escalate daily.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2003, Sheriff Lee Baca and Randy Fields, Owner of Promotional Dreams, donated over 3,000 polo shirts and clothing items to the Salvation Army for the victims of the Southern California wildfires. Promotional Dreams is a Southern California manufacturer and distributor of over one million different promotional products.

“In the past two weeks, I have witnessed a humbling outpouring of support for the victims of the Southern California wildfires,” said Sheriff Baca. “These items of clothing will allow the Salvation Army to reach out and help people in their most desperate hours when it seems all hope has been lost.”

Sheriff Baca will also unveil the Department’s new “Cops Have Heroes, Too” Bumper Sticker which will be placed on all Department vehicles.
“More than 16,000 firefighters battled the flames. We recognized the dangers they faced as they fought to end its destructive path. Although, simple as it is, we recognize our fellow brethren as our Heroes,” said Sheriff Baca.
