ROBERT N. SEDITA PROMOTED TO COMMANDER
| Robert N. Sedita, a 30-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Commander by Sheriff Lee
Baca, and was assigned to the Technical Services Division. In this new
position he will oversee the operations of the Communications and Fleet
Management Bureau, Data Systems Bureau, Records and Identification Bureau,
the Scientific Services Bureau and Division Budget.
Commander Sedita’s career with the Sheriff’s Department began in 1973, when he attended the Department’s Training Academy. After graduating the following year as a Deputy Sheriff, he held assignments at the Hall of Justice Jail, Service and Enforcement Bureau, Lomita Station, and Norwalk Station. Commander Sedita was promoted to Sergeant in 1983, after which he worked at Industry Station, Men’s Central Jail, the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center’s Jail Ward, and Inspectional Services Bureau. In 1989, he was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Transportation Bureau, Walnut Station, and Communications and Fleet Management Bureau. In 2000, he was promoted to Captain and assumed command of the Communications and Fleet Management Bureau. Commander Sedita holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology
from California State University, Long Beach and a Associate of Science
Degree from Rio Hondo College. He resides in Yorba Linda with his wife,
Cathy, and son, Robert Jr., age 20, and daughter, Christina, age 17.
In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, and archery. |
