KENNETH J. BRAZILE PROMOTED TO COMMANDER
Kenneth J. Brazile, a 30-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Commander by Sheriff Lee Baca, initially assigned to Field Operations Region II, and now assigned to Custody Operations Division.
Commander Brazile's career with the Sheriff's Department began in 1972, when he attended the Department's Training Academy after serving in the United States Marine Corps. After graduating as a Deputy Sheriff that year, he held assignments at Central Jail, Civil Division, Lennox Station, Firestone Station, and Marina del Rey Station. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1988, and went on to work at Carson Station, Internal Affairs Bureau, and Professional Standards and Training Division Headquarters, where he served as the Chief's Aide. Following his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant in 1994, he took on assignments at Century Regional Detention Facility, Lennox Station, and Century Station, where he later became Captain.
Commander Brazile holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from El Camino College, a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University (City of Orange), and he is currently pursuing studies toward a Master of Public Policy Degree from California State University, Northridge. He resides in Tarzana with his wife, Pamela, and their son, Bryan, 17, a student at Howard Taft High School. In his spare time, Commander Brazile enjoys viewing sporting events, (a little) golf, speed walking, movies, traveling, family social gatherings, and investing in stocks and real estate.
