ARTHUR NG PROMOTED TO COMMANDER

 

Arthur Ng, a 27-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Commander by Sheriff Lee Baca and assigned to Field Operations Region I. In this new position, he will be responsible for the Crescenta Valley, East Los Angeles, Malibu/Lost Hills, Palmdale and Temple Patrol Stations.

Commander Ng's career with the Sheriff's Department began in 1978, when he attended the Department’s Training Academy. After graduating as a Deputy Sheriff later that year, his first assignments were to Men’s Central Jail, Transportation Bureau, Vice Bureau, and Industry Station. In 1986, he was promoted to Sergeant and served at Lomita Station and the Office of the Undersheriff. Upon being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1990, he took on assignments at the Hall of Justice Jail, Temple Station, Inmate Reception Center, Risk Management Bureau, and Narcotics Bureau. In 1999 Commander Ng was promoted to Captain and oversaw the operations of the Narcotics Bureau, Internal Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the North County Correctional Facility.

Commander Ng holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles. He resides in Diamond Bar with his wife, Ellie, and their eight-year-old daughter, Noelle. In his spare time, Commander Ng enjoys reading, traveling, bicycling, and fishing.
