STEVEN M. ROLLER PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN
|
Steven M. Roller, a 31-year law enforcement veteran, was recently promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee Baca and has assumed command of Century Station. Century Station is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the City of Lynwood, and the unincorporated areas of Willowbrook, Athens Park, Florence, Firestone and Walnut Park. Captain Roller’s law enforcement career began in 1973 as a police officer with the Hermosa Beach Police Department. In 1974 he transferred to the City of Los Angeles Housing Police Department and worked the South Los Angeles area. In 1977 he lateraled to the Compton Police Department, where he rose through the ranks and attained the position of Captain. In 2000, as a result of the merger between the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Compton Police Department, Captain Roller was assigned as District Lieutenant for Court Services East Bureau. He then worked assignments as the Operations Lieutenant at the Transportation Bureau and most recently as the Executive Aide to the Undersheriff. Captain Roller holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from Rio Hondo College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Management from the University of Phoenix. Captain Roller resides in Fullerton with his wife, Lynn. He has three adult children: Joshua, 19, Candice, 23, and Diana, 29. In his spare time, Captain Roller enjoys gourmet cooking, traveling, and computers.
