TED S. SIARA PROMOTED TO COMMANDER

Ted S. Siara, a 28-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Commander by Sheriff Lee Baca and was assigned to Field Operations Region III. He will oversee the policing operations of Cerritos, Industry, Lakewood, San Dimas, and Walnut/Diamond Bar Stations. Commander Siara's career with the Sheriff's Department began in 1977, when he began attending the Department’s Training Academy. After graduating as a Deputy Sheriff the following year, he held assignments at Men’s Central Jail, Firestone Station, Field Operations West Headquarters, and Pico Rivera Station. When he was promoted to Sergeant in 1986, he went on to work at Men’s Central Jail, East Los Angeles Station, and Field Operations Region I Headquarters. Upon his promotion to Lieutenant in 1990, Commander Siara served at the Inmate Reception Center, Transit Services Bureau, Walnut Station, and Lakewood Station. Commander Siara was promoted to Captain on November 7, 1999 and served as the unit commander at Cerritos Station and the Training Bureau. Commander Siara holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University. He resides in Yorba Linda with his wife of 24 years, Robin. Commander Siara has two sons: Joseph, 22, and Andrew, 19, both students. In his spare time Commander Siara enjoys running, fishing and golf.
