BRUCE J. POLLACK PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN

Bruce Pollack, a 27-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, has been recently promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee Baca, and has assumed command of the Pitchess Detention Center-North Facility.

Captain Pollack's law enforcement career began in 1976 when he attended the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Training Academy. Upon his graduation, his assignments included Men's Central Jail, Special Investigations Bureau, Court Services East Bureau, and Norwalk Station. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1988, and was assigned to Lennox Station and the Office of the Assistant Sheriff, before returning to Lennox Station for a second tour. Promoted to Lieutenant in 1997, he worked at Sybil Brand Institute, Temple Station, and the Regional Community Policing Institute-Los Angeles.

Captain Pollack was born in New York City, and honorably served in the United States Navy. He has been married to his wife, Susan, for 24 years and they have two adult children, Jennifer, 22, and Joanna, 19, both of whom are students. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Management from the University of Redlands. Captain Pollack enjoys traveling and spending his spare time with his family.
