ROOSEVELT BLOW PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN
|
Roosevelt Blow, a 27-year
veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was recently
promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee
Baca, and assumed command of the Mira Loma Detention Center in Lancaster.
In this new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the custody
and care of detainees. In 1997, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department entered into a contract with the United States Immigration
and Naturalization Service to house Federal detainees awaiting deportation
hearings. Captain Blow is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. In 1999 he received a Quality Service Award from Custody Division for his accomplishments for the Biscailuz Recovery Center project. Captain Blow resides in Ontario with his wife, Kim, of 21 years. They have two children: a daughter, Devon, 19, a college student and a son, Roosevelt, Jr., who will graduate from high school this month. During his free time Captain Blow volunteers with the United Peace Officers Against Crime (UPAC) summer camp program for children. He also enjoys weight training and cycling. His favorite quotation is
an age old principle, “ Do violence
to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.” |
