TODD S. ROGERS PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN
Todd S. Rogers, an 18-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, has been promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee Baca, and assumed command of Carson Station. The Carson Sheriff's Station is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the incorporated city of Carson, and the unincorporated areas of Torrance and East Rancho Dominguez.
Captain Rogers' law enforcement career began in 1985 when he attended the Sheriff Department's Training Academy. Upon becoming a Deputy Sheriff in September of that year, he served at Sybil Brand Institute for Women, then moved on to a patrol assignment at Carson Station. As a Sergeant in 1992, he was assigned to Pico Rivera Station and the Hall of Justice Jail, before returning to Carson Station. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in March of 1996, returning to Sybil Brand Institute for Women. He also served at Lomita Sheriff's Station, the Regional Community Policing Institute, and once again, Carson Station.
Captain Rogers resides in Lakewood with his wife Sally. He has two children, Scott, age 10, and Brett, who is 8 years old. In his spare time, Captain Rogers enjoys coaching Little League players, and fitness training. Additionally, he is currently sitting on the Lakewood City Council as Vice Mayor, having been elected in March of 2001. Captain Rogers was raised in Carson and says that being selected to be commander of Carson Station "is a dream come true!"
