Captain Tim Peters
Captain Peters’ career began with the Sheriff’s Department in 1972 when he attended the Department’s Training Academy. After graduating he worked assignments at the Wayside Honor Rancho-Ranch Facility, Biscailuz Center, Service and Enforcement Bureau, Hall of Justice Jail, Lennox Station, Executive Planning Council, and the Special Investigations Bureau. In September 1982 he was promoted to Sergeant and worked assignments at Men’s Central Jail, Firestone Station, and Custody Division Headquarters Operations and Planning. In December 1986 he was promoted to Lieutenant and worked assignments at the Pitchess Detention Center-East Facility, the Consolidation Unit and the Ranch Facility, the Santa Clarita Valley Station, North Regional Surveillance and Apprehension Team (NORSAT). His last assignment was as an aide in Field Operations Region I Headquarters.

Captain Peters holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He has been married for 32 years to Patricia. They have two children: Joshua, 24, a mortgage loan Consultant for Starbucks and Barista, and Julie, 21, who is completing her Elementary Teacher Education at the Master’s College.

In his spare time Captain Peters enjoys, snow skiing, cycling, fly fishing, fishing in general, gardening, woodworking, and traveling.

Captain Peters states “I look forward to the challenge of serving the residents of the City of La Cañada Flintridge and the communities of La Crescenta, Montrose, Big and Little Tujunga, Kagel and Lopez Canyons, and the Angeles National Forest, as Captain of Crescenta Valley Station.” He is excited to work with the fine Crescenta Valley Station staff, who for years have served the community in the highest traditions of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
