Captain Matt Dendo Matt Dendo is a twenty-six year law enforcement veteran. He currently holds the rank of Captain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and has assumed command of Lennox Sheriff Station. In this position he will oversee the unincorporated county areas of Athens and Lennox and of the city of Lawndale. Captain Dendo’s career with the Sheriff’s Department began in 1982. Prior to the Academy, he participated in the "Off the Street: program and was assigned to the Inmate Reception Center. Upon his graduation from the Academy, he was assigned to the Men's Central Jail, Lennox Station, the Multi-jurisdictional Criminal Apprehension Detail (MCAD), and the Transit Services Bureau. In 1994, he was promoted to Sergeant and worked at the Transit Services Bureau, North County Correctional Facility, Lennox Station, Narcotics Bureau, and the Asian Criminal Task Force. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2000 and held assignments at North County Correctional Facility, Century Station, Asian Crime Task Force, Compton Station, Commercial Crimes Bureau, Training Bureau, Office of the Assistant Sheriff, and Lennox Station. Captain Dendo attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
