The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles (JFEDLA) along with the Museum of Tolerance, LA vs. Hate and the Los Angeles County Commission of Human Relation held Passover with several guests on April 16, 2024. Sheriff Luna had the honor of attending this special event, that addressed current events in the Jewish community and also featured a performance by the Temple Isaiah Choirs.
The purpose of this event is to cultivate unity in the community, a better understanding for Jewish history and combating antisemitism. Various leaders from diverse faiths and ethnicities gathered to celebrate the themes of Passover: resilience, freedom and overcoming adversity. The hope is that attending leaders will pass along the message collected during Passover to their communities.

#LASD Investigators Seeking the Public’s Assistance in Locating Wanted Attempt Murder Suspect
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Transit Services Bureau are continuing their investigation into an attempted murder.
On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at approximately 8:30PM, the victim was driving his bus route when the suspect started yelling at him. The victim stopped the bus at the intersection of 119th Street and Wilmington Avenue, Los Angeles. The suspect without provocation punched the victim in the face then proceeded to stab the victim. The suspect exited the bus and fled northbound on Wilmington Avenue and out of view.
