ADA - Accessibility Information for Persons with Disabilities
It is the goal of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to provide accessibility to its facilities, programs, webpages and services for all persons with disabilities. In accordance with the Title II requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in employment or in the admission and access to its facilities, programs, services, or activities. For LASD's wepages, the webpages will comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 so that LASD web content is accessible to those with visual disabilities. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has designated an ADA Coordinator to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 and the nondiscrimination requirements of the ADA.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services, including qualified sign language interpreters and assistive listening devices, whenever necessary to ensure effective communication with the members of the public who have hearing, sight, or speech impairments, unless to do so would result in a fundamental alteration of its programs or an undue administrative or financial burden. Furthermore, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will make reasonable modifications to its policies and procedures to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal access to its facilities, programs, services, webpages and activities.
Any person requesting reasonable accommodation, an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or modification of policies to participate in a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department program, service, or activity, should contact the sponsoring office or by submitting a completed "Request for Reasonable Accommodation" form, as far in advance as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department encourages all persons with disabilities to contact the Department with questions, comments, and concerns pertaining to accessibility issues. Complaints that a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department facility, program, service or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, ADA Coordinator.
